A Venturi Air Mover is a device that uses the Venturi effect to create high-speed airflow for ventilation, drying, or removing hazardous fumes. It works by passing compressed air through a narrow nozzle, which causes a drop in pressure and results in a high-velocity jet of air. This jet then draws in ambient air, significantly amplifying the total airflow output without requiring a mechanical fan or motor.
Venturi Air Movers are typically used in industrial settings such as confined space ventilation, cooling, fume extraction, and emergency smoke removal. Because they have no moving parts, they are durable, low maintenance, and safe for use in hazardous environments.
People sometimes refer to Venturi air movers as "blowers" because of their function and the way they are used. While technically not blowers, Venturi air movers operate by creating high-velocity airflow using compressed air and a Venturi effect, which makes them effective at moving large volumes of air over distances. This similarity in purpose—moving or blowing air—leads to them being casually termed "blowers," despite the different underlying mechanisms compared to traditional blowers that rely on electric fans or impellers. The interchangeable use of these terms is more a matter of convenience than accuracy.
